A modest single-storey federation terrace front conceals an innovative two-storey four bedroom home with central courtyard to draw natural light and sunshine into the previously dark spaces at the rear. The unique stairwell faces north and doubles as a light shaft bringing sunshine into the rear kitchen and dining spaces.

The landing at the top of the stairwell has a glass floor, drawing northern light into the living spaces below. The main bedroom and en-suite lend space and light from each other through the use of a clear glass wall. The highlight windows around all four sides of the en-suite result in a light-filled space that remains totally private in an inner-city setting.

  • Polished concrete floor to living area.

  • Sculptural plasterboard ceiling beams in the living/dining/kitchen space
